Airworthiness Inspection

The ultimate responsibility for safe operation and airworthiness rests solely with the owner and/or pilot. These items should be considered mandatory pre-flight.

General appearance: loose covering, warps and cracks, damage

Propeller: secure, cracks, tips painted, balanced, damage

Engine: secure, mount, prop nut tight, fuel filter and lines, properly adjusted, shut-off

Left wing: secure, warps

Left aileron: hinges, proper motion, stiffness of control setup, servo mount, horn secure

Stabilizer:secure, warps

Elevator: hinges, proper motion, stiffness of control setup, servo mount, horn secure

Vertical fin: secure, warps

Rudder: hinges, proper motion, stiffness of control setup, servo mount, horn secure

Right wing: secure, warps

Right aileron: hinges, proper motion, stiffness of control setup, servo mount, horn secure

Canopy, hatches, windscreen, covers: secure

Landing gear: placement, track, toe-in, stiffness, wheels, servo linkage

Radio: batteries charged, frequency secure, proper control surface movement, range check

Ground support: flight box, fuel, starter, transmitter etiquette

Weather: wind, visibility, precipitation, thunder, temperature, "critters"

Pilot: rested, flight plan, skills, spotter, sun and weather protection, loose clothing, footing, other flyers
